A Little About

Purpose Statement.

In high school, I challenged myself with several AP classes and a variety of leadership roles in different clubs. When I was accepted into the University of Maryland, I was very pleased to find I was invited into the Scholars Program. Reviewing the choices of which program to choose from, Public Leadership stuck out to me. I had prior leadership experience, however I had great interest in expanding my skills. Going into college, I was not sure what field I wanted to go into. However, I knew that learning more about leadership would be extremely applicable and helpful for whatever career I decided to pursue. More recently, I have decided to try the business route and apply to the business school. With the few business classes I have taken, I can already tell that the skills I have gained from Public Leadership are already benefitting me. Throughout the next two years, I would like to continue to broaden my knowledge of business. I hope to figure out more specifically what I would like to do in my future career as I continue to take more classes. When I graduate, I plan to apply the skills I have learned in both my business and leadership classes in whatever I decide to do. I feel confident that my education at the University of Maryland, specifically through the Public Leadership program, will well prepare me for my future endeavors.
